Travel Desk Tips for March
If you are tired of automated phone systems and wish to speak to a human being on the other end of the phone, go to the web site below for a list of at least 228 companies and government agencies and it will tell you how to bypass their automated phone system.    http://gethuman.com/us/

United Airlines Reservations   800-864-8331 When you hear "let's get started" say "Agent" ... then "Domestic" or "International" as appropriate. This is a NO-NO to call this number for listing to standby for a flight. . .

Seattle Metro Residents in the FREE calling area:  We would appreciate your calling the Retirees Travel Desk at (206) 433-4218.  Anytime you call the new 888  number the Travel Desk is charged 5¢ per minute. The 888 toll free calls are primarily for outside of the Seattle Free area. The new 888 calls are financially supported by the national RUAEA and UA Pilots Union sharing the cost 50/50.  We do appreciate both organizations support.

We have a nice service for those that list at least five days in advance of travel. Our staff will print off your PNR (Passenger Name Record) and the PXC (Passenger Counts) for the flights that match the days that you fly those segments. This is most helpful to have in hand if irregularities should occur. You do need to request this service and give your mailing address. We do have a postage supply.

For anyone who would like to become Skynet orientated, session can be arranged to become familiar  how to sign in, list your selves, even check-in day of departure, find service charges, other airlines reciprocal agreements and rules, about ID20 and other helpful information please contact me.  We will arrange a time and date, usually Fridays when the Travel Office is not in use. Plan for an hour and a half to two hours - give you time for hands on and some (Play time). Bring your laptop if Santa was good to you this past Christmas and we can plug it in and you can see how it operates - often slightly different than the Office computers.  Bob Brumfield,  MrB30@Qwest.net  or 682-4059. I have several Email addresses - this one is primarily for Travel Desk messages.
