Donna Metcalfe

Sept 1944-May 2005

We lost our very good friend, Donna Metcalfe, on May 31st after she lost a 7 year battle with cancer.

I first flew with Donna in 1983.  She and Joe were looking for a home in Seattle.  I told her my neighbor had a really cute house for sale in Bellevue.  They bought the house and we became really good friends.

Then my husband died suddenly in October of 1984.  My daughter Victoria, was 10 years old.  Donna and Joe just took her under their wings, taking her to movies and dinners all the time.  They became very close.

Then in about 1991, they moved to Hawaii.  Victoria made several trips over there to visit them.  They moved back to the Bay area a few years later.  Victoria got married in 1995.  When she had her daughter Taylor, in 1997; Donna became her Godmother.

We saw them many times through the years.

She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1998.  I believe she retired in 2002.  She fought a long hard battle until the end.

She was a wonderful, fun person and will be greatly missed.
